SYNOPSIS
In the early 90s, Roberto, an 18-year-old boy lost in life, leaves a violent Peru and travels to Montreal to join his father, Bob Montoya, an immigrant who fled from his country years ago and who now lives with his new Canadian family. With male pride, Bob strives to show his son his best version of the North American dream marked by his own prejudices. The reunion between father and son will be forever forged by a violence from which they have been unable to escape.

DANIEL VEGA AND DIEGO VEGA 

Daniel y Diego have written, produced and directed three feature films together. The first, Octubre (October, 2010), won the Jury Award in Un Certain Regard at the Cannes Festival and participated in Horizontes Latinos at San Sebastian. The second, El mudo (The Mute, 2013), participated in Films in Construction 23 at Toulouse and received, among others, the Best Director award at the BAFICI and the Silver Leopard for Best Actor at the Locarno Festival. They have also directed episodes for the series El Chapo, released on Netflix, and both are the directors of the series El día de mi suerte, of which Diego is the creator and screenwriter. Diego is also the creator, together with Mar Coll and Valentina Viso, of the Movistar+ series Matar al padre (Killing the Father).
